The Pearl House

The Pearl House project involves the complete remodelling, full refurbishment, and ground-floor extension of a home designed to meet the needs of a child with a disability. It also includes the reimagining of the outdoor spaces, ensuring full-level access throughout the property.

We were approached by a family seeking a home that would not only provide comfort but also enable them to care for their daughter. The family’s vision was clear: a space that would seamlessly integrate specialist medical equipment while maintaining the elegance and functionality of a beautiful home. With this in mind, we worked closely with the family, their lawyers, and occupational therapists to find a property that could be transformed to meet their unique requirements.

Every aspect of the adaptation was meticulously planned, from the bespoke staircase designed to reflect the family’s personal style to the open-plan living area that seamlessly extends into the rear garden.

The challenge was not just about creating a space that was physically accessible but one that would also feel warm and inviting where the family could provide the best care for their daughter, while still enjoying the comforts of a thoughtfully designed home.
