Art Deco House

Located in a quiet and sought-after neighbourhood, the Art Deco House project shows how contemporary architecture can enhance an existing property. This two-phase project involves a full refurbishment with a rear and side extensions, an indoor hydropool and the landscaping of the front and rear outdoor spaces. At this stage, the first phase has been built, and the secund will start in few months.

Phase 1 focused on the full refurbishment of an existing art deco home, celebrating its original features while bringing the property up to modern standards. The design team retained and restored key architectural elements such as detailed ceilings, the windows green colours, the skirting boards, and the proportions, while introducing bespoke joinery, including custom-designed doors and integrated storage solutions, to unify and elevate the interiors.

To improve energy efficiency and performance, the property was upgraded with high-quality insulation and aluminium-framed windows for the full property.

The new extension expands the property significantly. Central living spaces are designed for flexibility and connectivity, flanked by more private zones for work, care, or quiet retreat. The extension’s form responds to both the site and family dynamics, integrating generous living areas with functional spaces.

The transformation continues outdoors, where the garden has been reimagined in collaboration with a tree specialist. Two newly paved patios and access to the garden provide both aesthetic appeal and enhanced functionality, connecting the architecture to its natural surroundings.
