The Loft
The property was originally a 1920s house that had been converted into two flats. The first-floor flat featured a spacious roof area, which the client wanted to transform into additional family living space. A loft extension was an ideal solution to not only increase the overall value of the home but also provide much-needed space for the growing family. The existing pitched roof was particularly advantageous, as it allowed for the addition of large windows that flooded the loft with natural light, creating a bright and airy atmosphere.
We successfully obtained Planning Consent for an expansive open-plan living room, transforming the property into an “upside-down” maisonette, with the main living areas located on the upper floors to take full advantage of the views and light. We also secured Building Control Consent and supported the project by liaising with contractors on-site, ensuring everything was executed to plan and met the necessary standards. This project not only enhanced the living space but also added significant value to the property.
